Job summary

URBN Urban Outfitters, Inc. is seeking an Associate Store Designer to help develop new stores, remodels, and special projects under senior designers.

You will produce a complete Design Development set for DRMs and coordinate with the Architect of Record for construction documents. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Architecture or Interior Design and at least 3 years in an architectural/design firm, with strong AutoCAD/SketchUp and Adobe skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in an architecture or design firm.
• Experience working on retail projects a plus.
• Experience coordinating Architectural, Structural, MEP to facilitate Construction Drawing (CD) production.
• Experience working on design details for drawing sets.
• Must be able to work creatively with others.
• Ability to work towards demanding deadlines, as well as being self-motivated.
• Ability to adapt when directions or priorities change on short notice.
• Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
• Must be highly proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp.
• Must be proficient in Adobe Programs and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to hand sketch.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Ability to travel when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Assist other Store Designers and Senior Designers to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive CAD Design Development Set to Shared Services and the Architect of Record for construction document production
• Assist in creating design details as part of the Design Development package
• Develop storefront renderings and interior perspectives using SketchUp or hand sketches when necessary under the direction of other Store Designers
• Work on multiple projects with variable timelines concurrently
• Ensure accurate documentation of design revisions and changes
• Participate in Design Review Meetings to gain understanding of the evolution of new design concepts and stay up to date on standards
• Responsible for knowledge of schedules and standards set by the Store Designers and meeting all deadlines
• Participate in design brainstorming sessions with the team
