Job summary

Free People is seeking an Associate Store Designer to support design development for new stores and remodels under the supervision of Store Designers. You will help produce CAD design development sets for construction documentation and coordinate with the Architect of Record.

You will contribute to design details, store renderings, and interior perspectives while multi-tasking across projects to meet deadlines and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in an architecture or design firm.
• Experience working on retail projects is a plus.
• Experience coordinating Architectural, Structural, MEP to facilitate Construction Drawing (CD) production.
• Experience working on design details for drawing sets.
• Ability to work creatively with others and meet demanding deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills and detail orientation.
• Ability to travel when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Assist other Store Designers and Senior Designers to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive CAD Design Development Set to Shared Services and the Architect of Record for construction document production
• Assist in creating design details as part of the Design Development package
• Develop storefront renderings and interior perspectives using SketchUp or hand sketches when necessary under the direction of other Store Designers
• Work on multiple projects with variable timelines concurrently
• Ensure accurate documentation of design revisions and changes
• Participate in Design Review Meetings to gain understanding of the evolution of new design concepts and stay up to date on standards
• Responsible for knowledge of schedules and standards set by the Store Designers and meeting all deadlines
• Participate in design brainstorming sessions with the team

Role Summary

The Associate Store Designer will assist in the design development of new stores, remodels, and special projects under the supervision of Store Designers and Senior Designers. This includes the development and production of a complete Design Development set for all Design Review Meetings (DRMs) and issuance to the Architect of Record for construction documentation production.

Reports to: Store Designer / Senior Designer

Role Responsibilities
