Job summary

OpenBet is seeking an Associate Sports Trader to join our Managed Trading Operations in Athens. You will price events, manage risk, settle bets, and analyze outcomes, supporting senior traders across multiple sports.

Ideal candidates hold a mathematics/statistics degree, possess strong analytical skills, and are fluent in English. The role requires flexibility to work 24/7/365 and 3 days on-site, with a dynamic, global team and exciting betting markets.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Executes trading and risk management techniques with guidance from senior colleagues for select sports and betting environments.
• Ensures payout and sales targets are met for projects within scope.
• Delivers KPIs requested by management in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors price/odds changes to maintain competitive lines.
• Records and settles results for assigned sport events.
• References customers with suspicious activity to Senior Traders and Risk Team.
• Creates special/PR/novelty markets as required.

The Goal

OpenBet are looking for a Associate Sports Trader for its leading Managed Trading Operations as it grows in the Athens office. The Junior Sports Trader will be responsible for pricing events, risk management, bet settlement and analysis. You will be someone who has a strong passion for sports and a good knowledge of Sports Betting (if you have experience in a trading room that would be advantageous).

What you will be doing:

• Executes trading and risk management techniques (pregame and live betting monitoring and compiling along with updating odds) with assistance from senior colleagues, for a few sports and betting environments
• Ensures Payout and Sales targets are met for projects under their scope
• Assists the team in delivering the KPIs requested by management in a timely and accurate manner
• Monitors price/odds changes
• Refers customers with suspicious betting activity to Senior Traders and Risk Team for further actions
• Creates special/PR/novelty markets as required
• Records and settles results for assigned sport events accurately and on time

What you’ll bring

• University Degree in Mathematics, Statistics or a related field
• Deep understanding and familiarity with the sports betting business (bookmakers, markets, rules, betting trends)
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills with ability to act accurately under pressure
• Great attention to detail with the aim to provide quality results in a short time
• Confident to make quality decisions under pressure
• Computer literacy with in depth knowledge of MS Office
• Very good written and verbal communication skills in English
• Strong awareness of the sporting calendar
• Ability to work flexible hours in line with the needs of the business and the sporting calendar (24/7/365)
