Objectives of this Role:

  • Serve as an internal human resources partner to develop and recommend staffing strategies, proactively identify candidates, and assemble a diverse pipeline of talent for SwRI's internship program
  • Full cycle recruitment activities to include developing and implementing recruitment strategies, design and implement HR related training programs, and maintaining accurate records of internship placements, student information, and other relevant data.
  • Act as a point of contact for students, hiring managers, and other stake holders by facilitating communication and resolving issues that may arise.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with universities/colleges, local high schools, and trade schools to ensure a strong applicant flow for internship requisitions.
  • Attend and represent SwRI at college and high school career fairs locally and across the country.
  • Travel is required.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Conduct full cycle recruitment activities to include collaborating with hiring managers, sourcing, reviewing applications, conducting in-depth interviews, make hiring recommendations, and facilitating negotiations and onboarding.
  • Develop strong relationships with students, hiring managers, college career services, local high school faculty and teachers.
  • Lead logistical coordination for the summer internship program, including housing, onboarding, events, and ongoing student engagement.
  • Coordinate summer student networking events, identify speakers, and engage students and staff to ensure attendance and participation.
  • Develop and support internship branding efforts through the creation of recruitment materials, digital content, and student-facing presentations that highlight SwRI’s mission and culture.
  • Host campus tours for local/surrounding area high schools, colleges, and technical schools.
  • Assist with other recruitment or HR related activities as needed.

Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, Psychology or other related degrees with HR concentration or professional certification.
  • 0-2 years: Recruiting, college career counseling, or human resources related experience. Must be comfortable interfacing with hiring manager, directors, and VPs through phone and email communications.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to thrive in a team-based environment.
  • Must be willing to travel domestically for career fairs - approx. 20% travel.
  • Must have strong desire to continue learning the HR field and growing professionally, to include obtaining professional certifications.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
