Job summary

Mercy is seeking an Associate Sonographer to operate imaging equipment, primarily ultrasound, to support accurate diagnoses and patient care. The role emphasizes safety, image quality, and teamwork with clinicians.

The candidate should have completed sonography training or be registered, with state licensure as required. ARDMS/ARRT/CCI registry or eligibility, and BLS within 30 days are expected. Arkansas transfer considerations may apply.

The Associate Sonographer operates imaging equipment and software, mostly ultrasound equipment, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high-quality imaging standards. The Associate Sonographer position also requires a strong commitment to patient care, technical expertise, and collaborative communication with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.

Position Details:

Education: Graduate of a school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours OR registered sonographer.

License: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.

Experience: None required

Certifications/Registrations: Obtained ARDMS or ARRT or CCI registry OR Registry eligible (Achieve registry within 6 months of eligibility); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire

In the state of Arkansas, ARDMS-RVT OR CCI-RVS OR ARRT-VS may be required within 12 months of hire and/or transfer depending on scope of role.

• Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
