Mercy in Missouri seeks an Advanced Sonographer to operate ultrasound imaging equipment and software, supporting accurate diagnoses and treatments. The role includes leading when needed and serving as an expert resource for staff, with training responsibilities and a focus on patient safety and imaging quality.
The ideal candidate will have ARDMS/ARRT/CCI and registries, 2+ years of experience, and state licensure where required, plus strong communication and teamwork abilities.
The Advanced Sonographer operates imaging equipment and software proficiently, mostly ultrasound equipment, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires proficiency and thorough understanding of operating imaging equipment and procedures while ensuring patient safety and maintaining imaging standards. Responsibilities also include serving as lead when direct leadership is unavailable, serving as an expert resource, and assisting in training. Effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals is essential for providing optimal care.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Graduate of a school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours
Experience: 2 years of relevant experience
License: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.
Certifications/Registries: ARDMS/ARRT/CCI and 3 applicable advanced registries/certifications within the applicable work area OR 2 applicable advanced registries/certifications within the applicable work area and 5 years of applicable experience; Basic Life Support (BLS)
In the state of Arkansas, ARDMS-RVT OR CCI-RVS OR ARRT-VS may be required within 12 months of hire and/or transfer depending on scope of role.
