Job summary

Goldman Sachs in Dallas seeks an Associate-level Software Engineer to help deliver high-precision risk metrics on a growing data platform. You will join a global team applying Java, Python, Scala, Spark, and SQL to build scalable risk calculations, reports, and UI tools that empower risk decision making.

You will collaborate with risk managers and engineers to optimize performance, implement distributed processing, and deploy solutions across Snowflake, HDFS, and related technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 3-5 years’ experience working with risk technology teams in a large investment or retail bank, or a comparable financial institution.
• Experience in credit risk management functions and regulatory deliverables for credit risk and related technology.
• Experience in software development, with understanding of data structures, algorithms, and core programming concepts.
• Familiar with multiple programming languages and willingness to learn proprietary GS coding when required.

Responsibilities

• Tuning performance of applications to improve memory and CPU utilization.
• Analyze risk metrics and trends using statistical methods.
• Build internal and external reports for risk calculations using SQL and Tableau.
• Develop front-end UI components for risk management applications.
• Work with databases like Snowflake and Sybase IQ and distributed systems like HDFS.
