Job summary

Ascensus is hiring multiple associate-level engineers for Software Engineering teams across Full Stack, Front-End/UI, Back-End, QA/Test Automation, Data Engineering, Data Science, and DevOps. As an Associate Engineer, you will join a high-energy team delivering high-quality software using modern engineering practices, with a focus on AI-enabled tools and rapid iteration.

Qualifications

• Up to two years of full-time software development experience.
• Experience in one or more programming or scripting languages.
• Familiar with Generative AI tools for software development.
• Understanding of OO design and data structures/algorithms.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Passion for software development and learning.
• Experience participating in design discussions with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiar with Agile engineering practices (TDD, CI, pair programming).
• Experience in open source development.

• Protect, secure, and properly handle confidential data.
• Assist in estimating and planning throughout the software development lifecycle.

As a Scrum team member, you willbe responsible fordelivering solutions that adhere to the software architecture strategy, coding standards, andestablishedorganizational policies and procedures.

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

• Analyze, implement, test, document and maintain new and current software applications with minimal oversight in support of achieving the business goals.
• Assist in estimating and planning throughout the software development life cycle.

Section 3: Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

• Up to twoyears offull time professional experience developing software & systems for small to medium business environments through internships,Co-opsor professional experience.
• Working experience in one or more programmingor scriptinglanguages
• Experience in using Generative AI tools for software development
• Understanding of object-oriented design, datastructuresand algorithms
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Passion for developing software
• Experienceparticipatingin design discussions with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity or experience with Agile engineering practices (test driven development, continuousintegrationand pair programming, etc.)
• Experience inopen sourcedevelopment

The national average salary range for this role is 65-80k in base pay, exclusive of any bonuses and benefits.This base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salary offered will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, performance, and internal pay alignment. We do not anticipate that candidates hired will begin at the top of the range however, from time to time, it may occur on a case-by-case basis.
