Job summary

Ascensus is hiring multiple associate engineers across several engineering domains, including Full Stack, Front-End/UI, Back-End, Software Quality/Testing, Data Engineering, Data Science, and DevOps.

As an Associate Engineer, you will join a high-energy Scrum team delivering high-quality software with AI-enabled tooling and rapid iteration. You will adhere to architecture and coding standards while helping evolve our AI-driven development approach.

Qualifications

• Up to two years of full time professional software & systems development experience (internships/co-ops allowed).
• Experience in one or more programming or scripting languages.
• Experience using Generative AI tools for software development.
• Understanding of object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms.
• Strong problem-solving skills and passion for software development.
• Experience participating in design discussions with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with Agile engineering practices (TDD, CI, pair programming).
• Experience in open source development.

We are currently hiring multiple associate level engineers for our Software Engineering teams. These engineers will be hired into one of these areas of engineering:

• Full Stack Software Development

Section 1: Position Summary

As an Associate Engineer at Ascensus, you will be working in a high-energy team, delivering high quality software using the best engineering practices in industry today. Curiosity and passion for software development is critical. We are building teams that are empowered with AI capabilities and innovative tools to solve business needs using a rapid development and deployment pipeline focused on AI, automation, and rapid iteration.

As a Scrum team member, you will be responsible for delivering solutions that adhere to the software architecture strategy, coding standards, and established organizational policies and procedures.

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Section 3: Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

• Up to two years of full time professional experience developing software & systems for small to medium business environments through internships, Co-ops or professional experience.
• Working experience in one or more programming or scripting languages
• Experience in using Generative AI tools for software development
• Understanding of object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Passion for developing software
• Experience participating in design discussions with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity or experience with Agile engineering practices (test driven development, continuous integration and pair programming, etc.)
• Experience in open source development

The national average salary range for this role is 65-80k in base pay, exclusive of any bonuses and benefits.This base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salary offered will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, performance, and internal pay alignment. We do not anticipate that candidates hired will begin at the top of the range however, from time to time, it may occur on a case-by-case basis.
