Job summary

Globus Medical is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to contribute to the Cranial Solutions product line. You will join a multidisciplinary team of engineers to design and implement software for medical devices, focusing on full-stack components and platform-wide verification.

The role requires strong C++ skills (C++17+), Qt/QML familiarity, and experience with Visual Studio and Git. On-site position with up to 5% travel to cadaver labs and surgeries in the US.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 0-3 years of professional programming experience or a Master’s degree.
  • Strong object-oriented C++ development, including C++17 and later.
  • Development experience with or willingness to learn Qt and QML.
  • Comfort with Visual Studio/VS Code and Git workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software modules or components for medical devices.
  • Deploy, maintain and update full-stack software applications on multiple platforms.
  • Test, debug and troubleshoot software in cadaveric and laboratory settings.
  • Contribute to validation testing to ensure designs meet requirements.
  • Attend surgical cases to understand user requirements and context.

You will be part of a pluri-disciplinary development team of 5 to 10 engineers, dedicated to the development of our Cranial Solutions product line. This person needs to have strong technical skills in software engineering. The position will be a hands-on one with the individual capable of creative and systematic product development. The job requires the individual to be a team player with the ability to function well in a challenging and fast paced environment. Must be enthusiastic, positive, even tempered and have strong skills in areas of dependability, interpersonal relationships, flexibility and maturity.The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:Designing and developing specific aspects of software modules or components for medical devicesDeploying, maintaining and updating full stack aspects of software application for medical devices on various platformsTesting, debugging and troubleshooting software applications in a cadaveric and laboratory settingsContributing to and assisting with validation testing in cadaveric settings.Managing all aspects of assigned tasks to ensure timely completion while remaining in full compliance with Globus software development environment (version control, toolchain, documentation tools) and quality system.Executing software design verification procedures and assisting validation activities to ensure designs meet requirements.Periodically attend surgical cases to understand context and end user requirements.Adhering to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
