Software Placement Group is seeking an Associate Scientist to join its Phage Display team in Rockville, MD. You design and execute phage display campaigns for antibody discovery and protein engineering, contributing to therapeutic development.

This full-time, on-site role offers collaboration with a world-class team and growth opportunities from Sr Research Associate to Sr Associate Scientist depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS degree in Protein Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a similar field.
  • Strong understanding of protein-protein interactions and antibody engineering principles.
  • Hands-on experience with phage display technologies, PCR, cloning, and library construction.
  • Experience with high-throughput screening and selection methods.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and time management skills; team oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute phage display campaigns for antibody discovery and protein engineering.
  • Contribute to strategies for recombinant production of membrane protein targets.
  • Purify proteins and conduct analyses for hit identification and validation.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize protein engineering, expression, purification, and formulation.
  • Assist with library design, construction, and screening efforts.

Overview

A biotechnology organization focused on antibody discovery is seeking an Associate Scientist to join its Phage Display team. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a world class team contributing to antibody discovery and protein engineering efforts that drive the company's therapeutic pipeline forward.

What you'll do
  • Design and execute phage display campaigns for antibody discovery and protein engineering
  • Contribute to designing strategies for recombinant production of membrane protein targets
  • Purify proteins and conduct analytical characterizations for hit identification and validation
  • Help troubleshoot and optimize protein engineering, expression, purification, and formulation processes
  • Assist with library design, construction, and screening efforts
Required qualifications
  • BS/MS degree in Protein Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a similar field
  • Strong understanding of protein-protein interactions and antibody engineering principles
  • Hands-on experience with phage display technologies
  • Expertise in molecular biology techniques including PCR, cloning, and library construction
  • Experience with high-throughput screening and selection methods
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, coupled with excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Affinity for teamwork and enthusiastic collaboration
