Job summary

A leading IT staffing company is seeking an Associate Scientist II in South San Francisco. The role involves performing DNA quantitation, running PCR and capillary electrophoresis experiments, and conducting data analysis. Candidates should have a BS or MS in relevant fields and 3+ years of industrial experience. Experience with Thermo Fisher instruments is preferred. The position offers a full-time contract for 6 months.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial experience.
• Practical experience in DNA quantitation, Sanger sequencing, or fragment analysis.
• Excellent time management and bookkeeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare large amounts of DNA samples for qPCR, STR, and CE workflows.
• Run and maintain qPCR and CE instruments daily.
• Perform primary data analysis and troubleshoot data problems.
• Generate summary tables and charts from statistical data analysis.
• Verify and validate new instruments as per SOPs.
• Present experiment results to the project team.
