Job summary

Strand Therapeutics Inc. in Boston, MA is seeking an Associate Scientist II to support MSAT in preclinical and clinical-stage manufacturing for gene and cell therapies. You will report to the Senior Scientist of MSAT and play a leadership role in a fast-paced biotech environment.

The role focuses on executing manufacturing processes, improving robustness, and collaborating across Development, QA, and external teams to enable scalable production.

Qualifications

• BS or advanced degree in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field with 2+ years in RNA/LNP process improvement, manufacturing or optimization at a biotech.
• Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting experimental data to evaluate process performance.
• Experience with process development, scale-up, technology transfer, manufacturing support, and troubleshooting.
• Experience optimizing enzymatic reactions, chromatographic purification, TFF and other filtration methods for biologics.
• Hands-on experience with RNA/LNP production processes and standard analytical methods (UV-Vis, Gel, ELISA, DLS, RiboGreen).
• Strong documentation and communication skills; ability to present data to cross-functional groups.

Responsibilities

• Support execution, improvement, and maturation of preclinical and clinical-stage manufacturing processes.
• Perform lab-scale RNA and lipid nanoparticle production and analytical testing to evaluate improvements and support tech transfer.
• Author protocols and reports documenting procedures, results, and conclusions.
• Collaborate with Process Development, Analytical Development, Automation, and Quality teams to advance programs.
• Partner with external counterparts to support ongoing tech transfer and manufacturing activities.
