Job summary

FM is seeking a Consultant Engineer to identify risk and provide loss prevention guidance for client properties. You will conduct site assessments, evaluate fire protection and hazards, and prepare detailed reports after site visits. The role blends home-office work with significant travel to client sites and FM Training Center programs.

Strong communication and engineering background are essential. Travel about 30% of the time is expected; a company car is provided for site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset with solid organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic IT literacy.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on site risk assessments of client properties, including roofs.
• Conduct engineering evaluations (fire protection water supplies, sprinkler systems, hazardous areas).
• Ensure recommendations adhere to FM Engineering Standards and communicate solutions to clients.
• Produce written reports after each client site visit following FM guidelines.
• Work from a home office, manage deadlines, and collaborate remotely.
• Travel to client facilities; company car provided; occasional training and events.
