This position involves supervisory, administrative, and clinical activities within the Respiratory Therapy Department, with varying degrees of independent judgment in managing daily operations. The role includes performing respiratory therapy procedures as needed, under the medical and technical guidance of a licensed physician, with some autonomy for initiative and judgment.
Special Notes: Individuals practicing respiratory therapy in New York on or after January 1, 1994, who have applied for licensure under the grandparenting provisions and can provide documentation from the State Education Department, may continue practicing until December 31, 1994, or until notified otherwise. Maintaining the position requires ongoing licensure compliance as mandated by the New York State Education Department.
