Job summary

Copia Power seeks an Associate, Development Engineering passionate about renewable energy to support development of large-scale clean energy assets and data center load solutions onto the U.S. power grid.

You will work closely with Development, EPC, asset management, energy markets, legal, and finance teams in a contributor role. The role reports to the Senior Manager, Engineering and requires strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills, with a collaborative mindset and team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• 1–2 years in renewable energy preferred.
• Strong knowledge of renewable energy markets and solar technologies.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Support development engineering by creating and managing preliminary designs for projects in development stage.
• Perform in-house preliminary designs 10% level using AutoCAD/Civil3D, PVcase, and internal tools.
• Develop energy resource assessment models.
• Contribute to energy assessment/production modeling and performance testing standards.
• Manage on-site solar resource assessment and deployment.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize projects for offtake, LCOE, IRR, etc., before EPC LNTP.
• Coordinate design standards with Copia EPC team for consistency.
• Review engineering consultants, equipment vendors, and EPC contractors for Approved Vendor List.
• Advance Development Engineering processes for efficient evaluation of projects.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.
