Functional area: Operations & Maintenance
Remuneration: Exempt

The Associate, Remote Operations provides 24/7 remote monitoring of RWE North American renewable energy fleet. Remote Operators will interface with teams including Generation Dispatch, Operations, Engineering, IT, OT and SCADA Operations, and third parties to achieve success.

Role Responsibilities:

• Monitor North American (NA) operating sites from the 24/7 Remote Operation Center (ROC) (Primary and Backup locations)
• Provide notification of RWE energy technology, including but not limited to Wind, Solar, and Energy Storage Systems (ESS), events, and issues to Dispatch, Operations, and Engineering teams as needed
• Monitor RWE energy technology, including but not limited to Wind, Solar, and Energy Storage Systems (ESS), events, and address status changes per ROC procedures
• Receive and respond to instructions from RWE personnel concerning RWE energy technology operations in accordance with ROC procedures
• Complete required ROC and OEM training
• Leverage working knowledge of OEM SCADA systems and other fleet monitoring tools to reduce lost production
• Leverage working knowledge of OEM SCADA systems and other tools to onboard new projects/technology in the Remote Operations Team
• Work or cover 12-hour shifts over days/nights/weekends and holidays
• Participate in cross-team training on specific topics, systems, and processes
• Perform ad-hoc data reporting to assist in the preparation of various reports regarding turbine operation and performance
• Remotely troubleshoot and diagnose operational and technical issues and communicate to Operations and Engineering, as detailed by ROC procedures
• Address 24/7 Monitoring Desk support requests and execute on resolving issues by working with appropriate support and/or Operations teams
• Support the creation of process documentation, communication protocols, fault handling, and software development to support the Remote Operations desk

Job Requirements and Experiences:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum 2 years of work experience in a technical-related position with at least 2 years experience in power operations, power control, SCADA operations, renewable energy, or similar environments
