Functional area: Operations & Maintenance

The Associate, Remote Operations provides 24/7 remote monitoring of RWE North American renewable energy fleet. Remote Operators will interface with teams including Generation Dispatch, Operations, Engineering, IT, OT, SCADA Operations, and third parties to achieve success.
Role Responsibilities
- Monitor North American (NA) operating sites from the 24/7 Remote Operation Center (ROC) (Primary and Backup locations)
- Provide notification of RWE energy technology, including Wind, Solar, and Energy Storage Systems (ESS), events, and issues to Dispatch, Operations, and Engineering teams as needed
- Monitor RWE energy technology, including Wind, Solar, and ESS, events, and address status changes per ROC procedures
- Receive and respond to instructions from RWE personnel concerning RWE energy technology operations in accordance with ROC procedures
- Complete required ROC and OEM training
- Leverage working knowledge of OEM SCADA systems and other fleet monitoring tools to reduce lost production
- Leverage working knowledge of OEM SCADA systems and other tools to onboard new projects/technology in the Remote Operations Team
- Work or cover 12-hour shifts over days/nights/weekends and holidays
- Participate in cross-team training on specific topics, systems, and processes
- Perform ad-hoc data reporting to assist in the preparation of various reports regarding turbine operation and performance
- Remotely troubleshoot and diagnose operational and technical issues and communicate to Operations and Engineering, as detailed by ROC procedures
- Address 24/7 Monitoring Desk support requests and execute on resolving issues by working with support and Operations teams
- Support the creation of process documentation, communication protocols, fault handling, and software development to support the Remote Operations desk
Job Requirements And Experiences
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in a technical-related position with at least 2 years experience in power operations, power control, SCADA operations, renewable energy, or similar environments
- Preferred: Experience with renewable energy troubleshooting tools/software such as ToolboxST, Toolkit, Fluence, SMA, TMEIC, Power Electronics, ePOD, LG (BESS), Ignition, SI
- Substitution: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited school may substitute for 2 years of work experience. An AS/AA degree in Engineering Technology or a Bachelor’s degree in Business may substitute for 1 year of technical experience
- Ability to walk, climb, and stand extensively during the workday
- Ability to work within tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage customer relationships
- Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
- Strong leadership, communication skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
- Ability to multi-task while working independently and as part of a team
- Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
- Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and communicate effectively with diverse backgrounds
- Responds well to direction, is coachable, and open to development
- Detail-oriented, with strong business acumen and understanding of business concepts
- This position is office-based with some travel to other RWECE offices and field locations
- Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations
