Associate, Remote Operations

Role Overview

The Associate, Remote Operations provides 24/7 remote monitoring of RWE's North American renewable energy fleet. Remote Operators interface with teams including Generation Dispatch, Operations, Engineering, IT, OT, SCADA Operations, and third parties to ensure operational success.

Responsibilities

1. Monitor North American operating sites from the 24/7 Remote Operation Center (ROC) at primary and backup locations.
2. Notify relevant teams about energy technology events and issues, including Wind, Solar, and Energy Storage Systems (ESS).
3. Monitor and address status changes in energy technology per ROC procedures.
4. Respond to instructions from RWE personnel concerning energy operations.
5. Complete required ROC and OEM training.
6. Utilize OEM SCADA systems and monitoring tools to minimize lost production and onboard new projects/technologies.
7. Work or cover 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
8. Participate in cross-team training and perform ad-hoc data reporting.
9. Remotely troubleshoot operational and technical issues, communicating findings to Operations and Engineering teams.
10. Support support requests at the Monitoring Desk and resolve issues collaboratively.
11. Assist in creating process documentation, communication protocols, and software development for the Remote Operations desk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; substitutions include 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent education in Engineering or Business.
• Minimum 2 years experience in power operations, SCADA, renewable energy, or similar environments.
• Experience with troubleshooting tools/software such as ToolboxST, Toolkit, Fluence, SMA, TMEIC, Power Electronics, ePOD, LG BESS, Ignition, SI is preferred.
• Physical ability to walk, climb, stand extensively; capable of working under tight deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; ability to multitask and work independently or in teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams.
• Motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn about renewable energy and the company.
• This role is primarily office-based with some travel to other RWECE locations.
