Job summary

Ares Management in Boston is seeking an Associate for its Real Estate Secondaries team. You will evaluate real estate secondary investment opportunities, conduct due diligence, and support transaction execution across multifamily, industrial, and office assets.

You will prepare investment recommendations, present to investment committees, and contribute to portfolio monitoring and valuation analyses. 2–4 years of relevant experience is required.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in real estate secondaries or related fields.
• Strong financial modeling skills including DCF and NAV analyses.
• Experience with fund waterfall structures and portfolio valuations.

The role evaluates real estate secondary investment opportunities through due diligence, market research, benchmarking, and financial modeling, and analyzes real estate limited partnership interests, GP-led transactions, and continuation vehicles across multifamily, industrial, office, retail, hospitality, self-storage, data center, and other real estate asset classes. The Associate prepares and presents investment recommendations to investment committees, supports transaction execution, portfolio monitoring, asset management oversight, and valuation analysis of existing investments, and builds relationships with real estate fund sponsors, operating partners, and advisors. Candidates need 2-4 years of experience in real estate secondaries, real estate private equity, investment banking, or principal investing, with strong financial modeling skills including DCF analysis, NAV analysis, portfolio valuations, and fund waterfall structures.
