Job description

Your Role

The Associate Quality Metrologist in Milwaukee, WI, will manage the routine maintenance program for analytical equipment. You will oversee the purchase and installation of new analytical equipment and the ownership of department service contracts for instrumentation. The job duties include:

  • Manage the lab's regular preventative maintenance and performance verification (PV/PM) programs; schedule analyst routine tasks, document all activities in the department information management system, and ensure strict timeline compliance.
  • Diagnose and repair analytical instrumentation, coordinate external service groups, manage vendor service contracts, procure replacement parts, and advise team members on resolving calibration issues.
  • Manage the entire instrument lifecycle from onboarding to retirement, perform root‑cause analysis on downtime, and assist with capital planning, CapEx purchase requests, and Management of Change documentation for new technologies.
  • Ensure all system configurations and software user roles strictly comply with corporate Data Integrity policies and internal documentation standards for both internal and external maintenance services.
  • Maintain schedules and drive continuous improvement for the department's metrology training program, including coordinating webinars for key users to deepen system understanding.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other Engineering disciplines OR Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other Life Science disciplines.
  • 3+ years of laboratory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of analytical equipment maintenance experience.
  • Dedication to maintaining a safe, friendly workplace.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently with meticulous attention to detail, strictly following written procedures and documenting deviations in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Project Management experience.
  • Utilizes strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to extract key insights from data, while maintaining excellent communication and deadline management in high‑pressure situations.
  • Experience with measurement and calibration tools.
  • Mathematical skills applied to instrumental concepts such as uncertainty.
  • Proven ability to effectively train individuals on metrology concepts, regardless of prior background or technical experience.
  • Familiarity with common analytical software platforms such as Chromeleon and Tiamo.
Compensation & Benefits

Pay range: $27.00 - $46.00 per hour. The actual compensation offered will be determined by location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job‑related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance‑based bonuses. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
