Job summary

Wheaton College seeks an Associate Provost to provide strategic vision and managerial oversight for Academic Affairs, guiding curriculum development, faculty success, and external partnerships. The position emphasizes program innovation, cross-divisional collaboration, and revenue-focused enrollment planning, with responsibility for spaces, offices, and externally facing units.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in higher education administrative leadership, including budgetary oversight.
• Experience with shared governance and program development.
• Doctoral Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong collaborative and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead program innovation, development and expansion, including new undergraduate degrees and expanded graduate offerings.
• Build and manage external academic partnerships, including dual degree and workforce development opportunities.
• Create and manage a year-round enrollment model (summer/winter) to increase revenue.
• Allocate space and coordinate with facilities and ITS for teaching/learning environments.
• Oversee externally facing Academic Affairs offices (e.g., Early Education Center, Arts at Wheaton, Permanent Collection, galleries).
• Contribute to daily operations and long-term planning with stakeholders across divisions.
