Position Summary

The Associate Property Manager is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operation of the assigned property and filling in for their supervisor or any Property Manager within the SAHA portfolio. This role also supports special projects across the portfolio.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with leasing, move-ins, and move-outs.
  • Maintain databases, filing systems, and reports related to leasing and occupancy.
  • Handle tenant files, concerns, and complaints.
  • Prepare work orders for maintenance.
  • Conduct recertifications and implement corrections.
  • Assist with rent collection and deposits.
Special Assignments & Projects
  • Fill in for the supervisor and other Property Managers as needed, including interim supervision, leasing, eviction documentation, and town halls.
  • Lead or assist with portfolio projects such as recertification catch-up and lease-ups.
  • Support training of new staff.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Must be able to perform duties satisfactorily, with accommodations if needed.

Experience
  • Experience with HUD, LIHTC, and affordable housing preferred but not required.
  • Supervisory experience or transferable skills are desirable.
Abilities and Attributes
  • Strong MS Office skills; Yardi knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations with patience and compassion.
  • Excellent communication skills; multilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized.
  • Independent worker with leadership qualities.
  • Proactive problem solver with sound judgment.
  • Effective communication over various channels.
  • Awareness of emergency sounds and odors.
  • Willingness to travel across SAHA locations.
Certifications or Licenses
  • Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) and Tax Credit Specialist preferred; training provided.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Indirect supervision of site staff in the absence of the Property Manager.

Physical Demands
  • Sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs., and other physical activities as described.
Work Environment
  • Primarily in apartment complexes with minimal noise and temperature variation; travel required.
  • Potential exposure to noise, residents, bodily fluids, and hazardous materials.
