Job summary

Exponent in Oakland, CA seeks an Associate Project Manager for Construction Consulting to lead and manage large electric transmission projects from pre-construction to close-out. You will drive on-time, on-budget delivery, oversee costs, schedules, risks, and data integrity across teams, and report performance to executives.

The role requires 4+ years in construction management within utilities or heavy industry, strong PM and controls experience, and proficiency with Primavera P6 and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field such as Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Structural.
• 4+ years in electric utility or heavy industrial project/construction management.
• Strong experience in construction project management and project controls.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and interact with external clients.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and manage projects to meet schedule, cost, and scope.
• Develop schedules, budgets, and risk management plans.
• Manage cost performance, forecasts, and reporting to stakeholders.
• Perform change control and implement risk mitigations.
• Coordinate project teams and stakeholders across disciplines.
• Provide project performance status and strategic insights to leadership.
• Use Primavera P6, Power BI, and MS Office for reporting and analytics.
• Document management: baselines, progress metrics, logs, and minutes.
