Job summary

Hanwha Q CELLS America Inc. seeks an Associate Project Engineer to assist in technical support during origination and development of community solar scale PV+ESS, PV-only, or ESS-only projects across the United States.

You will work with Development and Project Engineering teams to perform due diligence, create layouts, run energy models, and help manage equipment reviews and stakeholder communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or energy engineering.
• Experience in solar or ESS project engineering (internships or entry-level OK).
• Ability to review engineering and technical matters with a commercial perspective.
• Familiarity with ground-mount and battery storage projects in distributed generation.
• Experience with permitting processes with local authorities and utilities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, HelioScope, PVsyst, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with technical due diligence to support origination and development.
• Help prepare conceptual layouts and electrical single-line diagrams.
• Support energy modeling and estimates using PVsyst and Helioscope.
• Assist in updating system engineering to optimize financial outcomes.
• Participate in technology reviews for PV or ESS equipment.
• Provide technical assistance to stakeholders including investors and utilities.
• Visit project sites to collect key technical information.
• Contribute to engineering deliverables for development items.
• Support sourcing and management of external consultants and vendors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
