Job summary

Hanwha Renewables, headquartered in Irvine, California, is seeking an Associate Developer to support business development for western U.S. solar and energy storage projects.

You will assist in identifying opportunities, evaluating prospects, and supporting M&A activities under the guidance of a development leader. The role requires collaboration with internal teams and external consultants, travel up to 50%, and a proactive approach to due diligence, scheduling, and reporting on milestones

Responsibilities

  • Associate Developer will assist in the planning and execution of business development opportunities from identification of opportunity through completion
  • Assist in identifying and securing renewable power customers and/or transactions, and managing the pipeline of prospects
  • Works with Senior Management to identify and develop business opportunities to acquire or develop new power facilities in attractive U.S. and/or international markets
  • Interfaces and coordinates with a highly energetic and results-driven multi-disciplinary team of internal Hanwha resources and external consultants to ensure the viability of identified projects through thorough analysis and appropriate project management
  • Participates in due diligence of projects, as appropriate
  • Serves as liaison between the project development and financial analysis teams to ensure that the deal structure, economic and tax assumptions are properly analyzed
  • Set up a detailed schedule for each task & milestone
  • Keep monitor and manage milestones and prepare routine progress reports
  • Prepares presentations to Senior Management as requested
  • Develops and maintain relationships with U.S. and/or international industry contacts, which includes key business and government customer relationships
  • Obtains supporting data including competitive intelligence on market opportunities for new projects
  • Closely follows industry trends

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Associate Developer will assist in business development for specific western U.S. projects. Responsible for assisting all phases of solar and energy storage project development, including the identification, evaluation, realization and M&A of projects. The Associate Developer will collaborate with the local team and assist a leader of project Development. This position reports to the VP, Project Development or another senior management personnel that the CEO of the Company may designate. This position is expected to travel up to 50% of the time.
