The Department of Neurology at the University of Minnesota invites applications for an Associate Professor position from candidates with a Ph.D. or equivalent degree specializing in neurophysiology and neuromodulation technologies for Parkinson's disease. This position will serve as the Associate Director of the Microelectrode Recording/Electrophysiology Services Clinical Program. The program supports deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgical treatment for Parkinson's patients and NIH-funded research on Parkinson's disease pathophysiology, novel DBS applications, and motor system neurophysiology.
The successful applicant will maintain a leadership role within the DBS clinical and research programs, including supervising research staff, securing extramural funding, publishing peer-reviewed manuscripts, teaching students and fellows, and participating in service activities.
Required qualifications include a PhD in biomedical engineering, neuroscience, or a related field; a strong record of securing research funding and publications; current NIH funding; expertise in clinical electrophysiology and DBS technologies for movement disorders, especially Parkinson's disease; and excellent interpersonal skills for collaborative work.

Salary range: $90,000 - $155,000 depending on qualifications. The position is a 100% appointment as faculty and P&A staff.
