The Department of English at Texas State University invites applicants for a full-time (nine-month) faculty position at the rank of tenured associate, tenured advanced associate, or tenured full professor to begin in Fall 2027 at our San Marcos campus.
The successful candidate will be expected to sustain a significant, ongoing research agenda commensurate with their appointed rank that leads to peer-reviewed publication and demonstrates leadership and impact in the field. The candidate will also teach and provide leadership in the M.A. in Technical Communication Program and in our growing undergraduate technical communication offerings. Additional duties include significant participation in the continued development of graduate and undergraduate programs in technical communication, mentorship of junior faculty, leadership on college and university-level committees, and appropriate administrative and programmatic responsibilities. The typical teaching load for faculty is 3/3 with some opportunities for course load reduction. Course offerings typically include a mixture of face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities.
