Job summary

Venture Global LNG in Arlington, VA seeks an Associate Engineer, Production to join the production engineering team. The role focuses on process modeling and simulation to understand plant performance, optimize production, and support real-time operational decisions.

You will work with experienced engineers across production, process engineering, and operations, leveraging data analytics and physics-based modeling to drive improvements while traveling to Louisiana facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
• 1-4 years of experience as an Engineer in a process plant environment or demonstrable passion for the discipline.
• Strong interest in physics-based engineering modeling, data analytics and data science/machine learning methodologies.
• Understand where each modeling approach fits, and their strengths/weaknesses.
• Experience with statistical analysis methods/tools.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Ability to present results/visualizations clearly for decision making.
• Internship experience in oil and gas preferred.
• Familiarity with Office 365 and process modeling tools such as Unisim/Aspen HYSYS.
• Some programming skills (C++, Python) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create/validate steady-state and dynamic process models of the LNG process units using industry standard tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS)
• Using appropriate methodologies such data driven, physics-based and data analytics models depending on the objectives
• Engaging with stakeholders (engineering, IT, operations) and building positive relationships
• Analyze plant data and model outputs to identify optimization opportunities and troubleshoot operational issues
• Assist in evaluating the impact of process changes, debottlenecking studies and efficiency improvements
• Innovating and driving continuous improvement
• Travel to all our Louisiana LNG Facilities as needed
