Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble structural and mechanical components safely and efficiently to meet specifications.
• Layout and construct product assemblies per blueprints using proper tools.
• Read assembly specs, BOMs, and drawings; identify discrepancies.
• Plan fabrication/assembly steps from drawings; ensure alignment and fit.
• Assemble parts per print; ensure proper fitment and operation.
• Maintain ISO-9001 standards and support safety practices.
• Participate in Lean initiatives and continuous improvement.

Job Description

• Assembly of structural and mechanical components safely and efficiently to produce a quality product that meets specifications
• Layout and construct various product assemblies with minimal supervision according to blueprints or specifications, using the proper tools and equipment
• Read and follow assembly specifications, bills of material and drawing sets, and identify discrepancies.
• Break down assembly drawings and specifications, and plan the successive steps of fabricating and assembling mechanical parts and units.
• Assemble parts according to print including fitment, alignment and adjustment.
• Ensuring mechanisms are free from binding or interference and function properly, and diagnosis and repair of improper mechanical assembly or operation.
• Maintain ISO-9001 standards
• Perform all duties in a safe manner; support all safety and environmental rules and environmental initiatives.
• Participate in Lean initiatives to provide ongoing continuous improvement ideas for products, process, and procedures
• Work in other areas of the plant as may be required.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• H.S. diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Skilled and experienced with operating hand, power and pneumatic operated tools common to the trade.
• Blueprint reading capabilities, understanding of measurements and tolerances
• Ability to obtain forklift (license)
• Ability to learn how to properly handle overhead cranes safely

Job Qualifications

• Experience or exposure to lean concepts
• Willing to work long hours, overtime and weekend as required
• Effective team player

Physical Requirements

Frequently stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, climb, maneuver, stoop, squat, grasp, reach and carry, or otherwise move objects exerting up to 75 pounds force Daily walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing for sustained periods of time, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
