As an Associate Product Manager, you'll be responsible for positioning products for profitable growth within states that are generally smaller or less complex. You may have opportunities to work on a portion of a more sophisticated state in support of the Product Manager. Work will include implementing processes related to financial planning, rate reviews, market development, and communication. You'll support regional and corporate objectives through ongoing analysis and monitoring of results to ensure alignment with objectives.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Senior Product Manager.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in insurance, actuarial science, mathematics, risk management, economics, finance, accounting, business administration, or related field preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: Progress toward or completion of CPCU, AU CIC, INS ARM, Actuarial exams or similar designations preferred.
Experience: Six years of experience in underwriting or product preferred. Cross-functional experience from other areas and experience with data analysis preferred.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Knowledge of core business functions and detailed knowledge of commercial lines insurance products and pricing architecture, state regulations, underwriting procedures, and standard methodologies. Solid understanding of financials, trend analysis, and competitor data. Proficiency in analytical tools, relational databases, data visualization techniques, query-based language, and/or statistical software experience preferred. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to present information, communicate, and influence internal and external partners at all levels. Must be skilled in the use of related systems and analytical tools. Ability to work towards results, deal with ambiguity, solve problems, learn on the job, make quality decisions, see trends and patterns within data. Ability to lead projects, opposing priorities, timelines, and resources to complete work.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, proficiencies, and experiences, may take precedence.

Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure, and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market and other conditions of employment. If a Sales job, sales incentives, based on performance goals, are possible in addition to this range.
The national salary range for Associate Product Manager - Personal Lines: $70,000.00-$145,500.00
The expected starting salary range for Associate Product Manager - Personal Lines: $78,000.00 - $117,000.00
