This Associate Product Manager position is with the Carrier Replacement Components (RC) business and will focus on management of HVAC aftermarket supplies including chemicals, tools, safety products, and assorted HVAC components. The role is responsible for products across all channels and brands that RC offers. The focus will be on driving growth and profitability in sales to distribution as well as new channels and will require cross-collaboration with Carrier RC and Residential teams.
This position can be located in Indianapolis, IN, Syracuse, NY or remote.
Participate in cross functional teams to achieve goals
Prepare business opportunity plans & product roadmaps in support of potential new business & utilize Passport (Phase Gate) review process to gain business unit approvals. Execute the tasks associated with the plan, including sales and product forecasts, new part setup, pricing, gross margin analysis and execution of market strategy.
Analyze competitive product features, benefits, and pricing and take appropriate actions to provide competitive portfolio of products
Provide project management leadership for new product development as well as corporate strategic initiatives.
Provide guidance to marketing and sales team, including product value proposition and technical specifications as needed. Provide support for product videos and on-line learning modules script development.
Provide and analyze sales and product reports by customer and by channel
Manage select product offering specifics including pricing, forecasting, inventory reviews (assist with last time buys, excess and obsolete), etc.
Support the RC Parts Information Management (PIM) process to ensure there is electronic PIM data to be used in e-commerce.
Support customers and the RC Sales Force on product-related inquiries
Conduct product training sessions online & face to face at customer training events for 50+ attendees.
Support distributor events such as open houses and trade shows to discuss and demo products.
Bachelor’s degree
3+ years product marketing, project management, customer service or operations experience
Product or project management experience desired; specific knowledge of the HVAC/R or related industry is a plus
Demonstrated successful track record of managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders
Business and financial acumen including forecasting, pricing, and gross margin calculation is desired.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Word and PowerPoint)
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact and collaborate with a cross-functional team
Use or knowledge of RC systems (PowerBI, SAP, Sales Force)
Demonstrated sense of urgency, self-initiative, and sense of ownership
Willingness to learn and flexible approach
