Job summary

Databricks in Seattle is seeking an Associate Product Designer to join the 2027 APD cohort. You will learn to work with product managers, engineers, designers, researchers, account teams, and leaders while solving customer problems on the Databricks platform.

You will own parts of the design process from discovery through prototyping, and collaborate across teams to ship features that improve our data and AI product experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 with a bachelor's or master's in HCI or related design practice.
• Ability to leverage AI tooling in the design process without sacrificing craft.
• Good judgement in visual hierarchy, layout, and information architecture.
• Some experience with SQL and/or Python.
• Hands-on learner who builds, tests, and iterates.
• Use data to drive design decisions and communicate results clearly.
• Communicate design perspective to engineers, customers and field.
• Curious and eager to learn new technologies and domains.

Responsibilities

• Work with a cross-functional team to build features for the Databricks platform.
• Manage your project end-to-end, from discovery and ideation through final design prototype for engineering to implement.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to ship features on the Databricks platform.
• Conduct research with customers to better understand their needs and improve your design.
