Job summary

Databricks is seeking an Associate Product Designer to join its APD cohort. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, researchers, and other partners to design features for the Databricks platform, from discovery through prototyping for engineering implementation.

You will learn under a dedicated manager and mentor, gaining hands-on experience in data-driven design at a high-growth AI company.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 with a bachelors or masters in HCI or related design practice.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tooling in the design process without sacrificing craft.
• Good judgement in visual hierarchy, layout, and information architecture.
• Hands-on with SQL and/or Python.
• Willing to build, test, and iterate to reach answers.
• Ability to make data-driven decisions from product usage and UX research.
• Able to communicate design perspectives to engineers, customers, and teams.

Responsibilities

• Work with a cross-functional team to build features for the Databricks platform.
• Manage projects end-to-end from discovery and ideation through final design prototype for engineering to implement.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to ship features on the Databricks platform.
• Conduct research with customers to better understand their needs and improve design.
