Job summary

AlpInvest Partners, a Carlyle Group subsidiary, is seeking a 2-Year Associate for the Secondary & Portfolio Finance Investments (ASPF) team. You will identify and evaluate capital solutions across private equity and credit, focusing on NAV-based lending, GP financing, and credit secondaries.

You will work end-to-end on deal execution, collaborating with senior investment professionals, and leveraging AI tools to enhance efficiency while preserving human judgment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or accounting (required).
• Minimum 2 years in investment banking, private equity, or private credit.
• Experience with complex transaction structuring, due diligence, and financial modeling.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to interact with seniority levels.
• Experience with NAV and cash flow-based valuations; familiarity with private markets.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate a diverse range of private equity and credit opportunities across secondary and portfolio finance transactions.
• Perform advanced financial modeling at company, fund, and GP levels.
• Lead and coordinate transaction due diligence, including detailed due diligence request lists.
• Prepare investment memoranda and presentation materials for investment committees.
• Develop and present independent views using market research and proprietary analysis.
• Interface with general partners, intermediaries, and other stakeholders to gain deal insights.
• Monitor performance of existing investments and attend advisory board and GP meetings.
• Contribute to internal knowledge development and team training through research and post-mortem reviews.
