Job summary

Interface Engineering, Inc. seeks an Associate Principal / Senior Electrical Design Engineer in Los Angeles, offering hybrid work with in-person collaboration.

You will lead electrical design for diverse projects, mentor staff, and coordinate with clients while guiding the MEP team through complex, high-performance systems. The role requires a PE, 10+ years in MEP, and strong leadership, communication, and coding knowledge across healthcare and other sectors.

Qualifications

  • BSEE required; PE preferred.
  • 10+ years' experience in MEP design/consulting.
  • Healthcare building design experience and HCAI compliance.
  • Strong team leadership and project management with client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as discipline leader for multiple projects across industries.
  • Lead and mentor multi-disciplinary engineers and designers.
  • Manage complex MEP projects with a focus on high-performance design.
  • Meet with clients to define requirements and present solutions.
  • Provide guidance to design staff and integrate with project management.

Key Responsibilities

As an Associate Principal / Senior Electrical Design Engineer at Interface, you will be taking ownership as a discipline leader on multiple projects. Your duties will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Serve as permanent Team Leader for Multi-discipline engineers and designers.
  • Managing complex MEP projects across numerous industries: Commercial, Medical, Biotech, Education, Transportation, and more.
  • Innovative and complex electrical system design
  • Meeting and consulting with clients
  • Providing guidance to design staff
  • Supporting overall project management to our MEP team leaders.
Required
What You’ll Bring:
  • BSEE
  • 10+ years' experience in MEP design/consulting
  • Team leadership/management experience
  • Project Management Experience in the MEP space
  • Healthcare building design and HCAI compliance experience
  • High-energy client services skills
  • Excellent communication ability
  • Complete understanding of building codes
  • Thorough design system knowledge
Preferred
  • A Professional Engineering License (or equivalent experience)
  • PMP Certification
  • LEED Accreditation
  • Experience with CAD and REVIT
