Interface Engineering, Inc. in Oakland, CA is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer I (MEP) to lead complex electrical systems for healthcare, education, commercial, and biotech projects. This hybrid role requires two in-office days per week.

You will mentor design staff, collaborate with clients, and advance the MEP team toward leadership roles in a dynamic, employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of MEP design/consulting experience sufficient for senior level responsibilities.
• Healthcare building design experience and HCAI compliance knowledge.
• Strong client-facing communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex MEP projects across industries (Healthcare, Education, Commercial, Biotech, Transportation).
• Design innovative electrical systems and coordinate with multi-discipline teams.
• Meet with clients to review requirements and provide guidance to staff.
• Support project management and mentorship within the MEP group.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing complex MEP projects across numerous industries: Healthcare, Education, Commercial, Biotech, Transportation, and more.
• Innovative and complex electrical system design
• Meeting and consulting with clients
• Providing guidance to design staff
• Supporting overall project management to our MEP team leaders.

What You’ll Bring:

• BSEE
• 7+ years' experience in MEP design/consulting
• Team leadership/management experience
• Project Management Experience in the MEP space
• Healthcare building design and HCAI compliance experience
• High-energy client services skills
• Excellent communication ability
• Complete understanding of building codes
• Thorough design system knowledge

Preferred

• A Professional Engineering License (or equivalent experience)
• PMP Certification
• LEED Accreditation
• Experience with CAD and REVIT
