Job summary

The City of Beverly Hills is seeking an Associate Planner to perform current and environmental planning tasks, reviewing projects for consistency with the Municipal Code, State laws, and CEQA. You will provide zoning information and conduct minor reviews at the public counter, collaborating with staff to support a high-quality community.

This journey-level role emphasizes proactive planning, strong communication, and project management to serve residents and businesses while advancing city

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in planning, architecture, economics, geography, public policy or related field.
A Master's degree is desirable.
Three or more years of progressively responsible current and/or advanced planning or community development experience.
AICP is desirable.
Six months of internship experience may be considered as part of work experience.
Possession of a California driver's license.

Responsibilities

Associate Planner performs current planning activities, reviewing development projects for consistency with the Municipal Code, State laws, and CEQA.
Provide zoning information and minor project reviews at the City's public counter.
Work with colleagues to build positive relationships within the community.
