Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in personal and/or business tax preparation.
  • Prior experience in personal financial planning/wealth management preferred.
  • Bookkeeping experience a plus.
  • Master's degree a plus, but not required.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, including attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple client projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Financial Planners in preparing for annual client consultations and monitoring calls
  • Prepare and/or review personal and small business tax returns
  • Participate in training modules and mentorship with Senior Planner
  • Advise in the areas of cash flow analysis, investment allocation, tax planning, retirement planning, pension planning, insurance planning, education planning and estate planning
  • Prepare and reconcile some clients' accounting records on a monthly basis
  • Research and respond to client questions when senior planners are in consult or unavailable
  • Communicate directly with clients and help foster positive relationships between clients and our firm
  • Learn the processes and philosophies of our firm in order to prepare yourself to meet with clients in the future

Role Description: We are seeking a motivated candidate to fill the role of Associate Financial Planner in our rapidly growing firm. This is an outstanding opportunity for a tax accountant looking to transition to personal financial planning or for an experienced financial planner. With an intended path to quick promotion, this individual should be comfortable working directly with clients. This is not a sales position.
