Job summary

Optum is seeking an Associate Patient Care Coordinator to provide front office support. You will handle appointment scheduling, patient registration, cashiering, and answering calls while ensuring smooth clinic flow at 2 West Fern Ave, Redlands, CA.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. The role requires a high school diploma, 6+ months in customer service, and basic MS Office skills. Prior EMR experience is a plus, with generous benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months of customer service experience.
• Basic proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage wait times.
• Check-in/out, verify demographics and insurance, obtain pre-authorizations.
• Collect co-pays/coinsurance and issue receipts.
• Answer phones and schedule appointments.
• Redirect calls and assist callers with questions.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients and staff.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

The Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible to the Center Administrator and provides appointment scheduling, patient registration, cashiering, answers incoming calls and performs other related clerical functions. This primary role provides front office support functions.

Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM

2 West Fern Ave, Redlands, CA

Primary Responsibilities

• Greets patients as they arrive and manage appropriate standard wait times
• Complete check-in and check-out tasks to include patient demographic verification, insurance verification, complete pre-authorizations and/or precertification of procedures, and copy required documents
• Collects co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issues receipts
• Answers phones and schedules appointments
• Answer telephone calls, re-direct calls as appropriate, assist callers with questions or concerns, and take messages as needed
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
• Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED
• 6+ months of experience in customer service
• Basic level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience with medical office processes
• 1+ years of related work experience including data entry
• Prior experience with EMR computer applications

The hourly pay for this role will range from $16 to $29 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
