Job summary

Optum is hiring an Associate Patient Care Coordinator to manage appointment scheduling, patient registration, and cashiering at our Las Vegas site. This role answers calls and performs clerical duties as a front office support function.

Schedule Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm PST, with potential travel to other sites. Responsibilities include greeting patients, collecting co-pays, ensuring accurate demographics, and coordinating with back office to maintain smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years of customer service experience.
  • 1+ years of administrative support in healthcare/health insurance.
  • Beginner proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule patient appointments and verify visit type and PCP.
  • Greet patients and check in/out; update demographics and insurance in IDX.
  • Collect co-pays and adhere to cash handling policies.
  • Maintain waiting area cleanliness and inform patients of pertinent information.
  • Coordinate with back office for smooth patient flow; escalate issues as needed.
  • Assist teammates and float to other areas as needed.

TheAssociate Patient Care Coordinatorreports to the Center Administrator and provides appointment scheduling, patient registration, and cashiering. This role also answers incoming calls and performs other related clerical functions, acting as a front office support function.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm PST

Location: 8526 Del Webb Blvd. Las Vegas, NV. May be required to travel to other sites for coverage, depending on business need.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Schedule patient appointments, verifying correct visit type and primary care provider
  • Provide exceptional service to all customers
  • Responsible to greet patient and check patient in and out. Ensure demographics including insurance information are correct in IDX and update as necessary
  • Collect appropriate co-pays and adhere to all cash handling policies
  • Responsible for waiting room management cleanliness, communicate pertinent information to patients and ensure all patients have been assisted
  • Work with back office staff to ensure smooth patient flow
  • Resolve service issues and complaints, and defer to appropriate management or clinical personnel when necessary
  • Assist co-workers and team members with duties when requested, to include but not limited to, floating to other areas

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+ years of experience in customer service
  • 1+ years of experience providing administrative support in a healthcare, medical office, and/or health insurance environment
  • Beginner level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of data entry experience
  • 1+ years of experience with EMR computer applications

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
