UF Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) in Jacksonville, FL for full-time night shifts (7:00pm–7:00am), totaling 36 hours per week.

The PCA provides direct patient care under the supervision of an RN, assists in safe, patient-centered care, and helps maintain a clean environment while exemplifying service excellence for patient and family satisfaction.

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) provides direct patient care and supportive services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The PCA assists in delivering safe, effective, patient-centered care while ensuring a clean, orderly environment and demonstrating service excellence behaviors to promote patient and family satisfaction.

Qualifications

Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups

Required Education:

High School Diploma or GED Necessary Skills:

• 1. Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all of the healthcare team.
• 2. Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply all hospital computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.
• 3. Knowledge of basic medical terminology and standard precautions, ability to read/write in English, etc.

Required Licensure/Certifications:

• -Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• -Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer and then annually is required for the Psychiatric unit only.
