The Department of Neuroscience at the University of Minnesota Medical School is seeking candidates for tenured (Associate or Full Professor) faculty appointments. The department focuses on a wide range of research questions with a strong emphasis on team science and collaboration.
We are particularly interested in candidates whose research involves non-human primates, computational models, and/or innovative imaging or electrophysiological approaches. Our goal is to foster interdisciplinary synergy to advance science and preclinical research. We welcome applicants from diverse scientific backgrounds including neuroscience, physics, engineering, pharmacology, psychology, chemistry, biology, and computational science.
Our strengths include the Center for Magnetic Resonance Research, the Institute for Therapeutics Discovery and Development, the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, the MnDRIVE initiative, the UMN Viral Vector and Cloning Core, and the UMN Imaging Center. The department also leads the Medical Discovery Teams on Addiction and Optical Imaging, supporting interdisciplinary research. Minnesota hosts numerous biomedical companies and top hospitals. The department is dedicated to research, education, and public service, focusing on disorders such as neurodegenerative diseases, aging, chronic pain, addiction, vision disorders, and psychiatric conditions. Faculty secure over $12 million annually in external funding.
