Job summary

Kettering Health is seeking an OB Tech to support the labor and delivery team in a part-time daytime role at KH Hamilton. You will assist with surgical procedures, maintain sterile environments, and provide patient care support following established protocols.

Responsibilities include equipment readiness, clerical tasks to keep unit operations efficient, and adherence to Kettering Health's mission and B Safe program.

Qualifications

• Certification in CPR.

Responsibilities

• Assist obstetricians and nurses during labor, delivery, and surgical procedures, including c-sections, by preparing and passing instruments and supplies.
• Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols.
• Prepare, clean, and restock labor/delivery rooms and equipment before/after procedures.
• Transport patients, specimens, and equipment within the unit as directed.
• Monitor and document patient vital signs and report changes to nursing staff.
• Provide emotional support and basic comfort measures to patients and families.
• Perform routine equipment checks and ensure supplies are within expiration dates.
• Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping under supervision of licensed staff.
• Complete clerical duties such as updating patient records and scheduling.
• Comply with safety, regulatory, and organizational policies including HIPAA and OSHA.

• Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols throughout all procedures.
• Prepare, clean, and restock labor and delivery rooms, operating rooms, and equipment before and after procedures.
• Transport patients, specimens, and equipment within the unit as directed.
• Monitor and document patient vital signs and report changes to nursing staff as appropriate.
• Provide emotional support and basic comfort measures to patients and families.
• Perform routine equipment checks and ensure all supplies are available and within expiration dates.
• Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping under the supervision of licensed staff.
• Complete clerical duties such as updating patient records, scheduling, and managing unit communications.
• Comply with all safety, regulatory, and organizational policies, including HIPAA and OSHA standards
