Job summary

KBR, Inc. seeks an Associate Structural Engineer to contribute to the design and analysis of offshore floating production platforms and vessels.

You will engage in wind and hydrodynamic loading calculations, load condition definitions, and stability checks on semisubmersibles and FPSOs, while performing structural analyses and preparing technical reports. Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited college or university, with a baccalaureate, master's, or doctoral degree in civil/ structural engineering, naval architect, or mechanical engineering with 0-5 years of experience;
• Good academic standing as established by your college or university
• Experience in design of offshore structures

Responsibilities

• Participating in design and analysis of offshore floating production or drilling units, such as semisubmersibles and FPSOs
• Calculate wind and hydrodynamic loading for offshore floating structures
• Define load conditions and check the stability
• Strength, fatigue and buckling assessment of stiffened plating structures
• Utilize DNV SESAM software suite to perform the structural and hydrodynamic analysis
• Utilize FEA software to do structural analysis of offshore hull structures
• Writing technical reports
