Job summary

American Eagle Outfitters is seeking an Associate Merchandise Planner who will act as a business manager for selected merchandise categories across channels. You will partner with Omni-Merchants to build viable plans and targets tied to financial goals, focusing on sales and profitability.

You will support planning for retail, cost, units, and margins, ensuring alignment with top-level goals and department strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
• 3+ years of merchandise planning experience in specialty retail or retail buying.
• Retail math knowledge preferred.
• Product knowledge of apparel and related merchandise.
• Strong analytical and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Planner/Senior Planner in pre-season plans across channels.
• Review in-season product trends to revise plans for profitability.
• Present monthly revisions of merchandise plans to executives.
• Analyze historical data to identify risks and opportunities.
• Develop item plans within department.
• Forecast effects of markdowns on sales and profitability.
• Participate in MPC and related meetings.
• Manage markdowns and purchase orders for fiscal control.
• Develop knowledge of Omni-Planning tools and build item-level plans.
• Familiarize with available data resources and merchandise.
