Job summary

Trustbridge Hospice, part of Empath Health, seeks a full-time Associate Medical Director to provide medical oversight and leadership for hospice patients and families across Palm Beach County. Qualifications

• M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certification in a related specialty.
• Current Florida medical license to practice medicine.
• Minimum two years’ direct clinical care experience.
• Certification in Palliative Medicine strongly preferred.
• Hospital staff privileges at hospitals serving the area are preferred.
• CPR certification required if patient facing.

Responsibilities

• Provides symptom control expertise and direct patient visits with care teams.
• Collaborates with attending physicians to develop and update care plans.
• Acts as a medical resource and educator for staff, families, and physicians.
• Adheres to Florida health requirements and regulatory standards.
• Participates in IDG meetings to address patient medical needs.

Job description

Trustbridge Hospice, a member of Empath Health, is seeking a full-time Associate Medical Director to provide medical oversight and leadership for hospice patients and their families across Palm Beach County. The Associate Medical Director will provide medical direction of the care and treatment of patients within an Empath Health Palliative Care program. This role blends clinical care and leadership responsibilities, working closely with care teams to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.

Trustbridge Hospice has been honored to serve families across Palm Beach and Broward counties with compassionate, community-based care. Formed from the legacy of Hospice by the Sea and Hospice of Palm Beach County, we continue to provide comfort, dignity, and peace to those facing advanced illness.

What you’ll Do

• Provides symptom control expertise and communicates with the APRN and/or RN to evaluate and initiate treatments for pain/symptom management. This is primarily completed through in person visits.
• Collaborates with the patient’s attending physician as needed to develop and update the patient’s plan of care, ensure the provision of direct medical services to ensure pain and symptom management.
• Serves as a medical resource and educator to staff, patients, families and attending physicians regarding admission criteria, pain and symptom control management, and end of life care.
• Adheres to the Florida Department of Health requirements, as well as legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements. meetings as assigned, collaborating closely with the Clinical Director and other disciplines with a team approach to ensure that the medical needs of the patient are met.

• Completes ongoing assessments of the patient’s diagnosis and accurately evaluates eligibility for recertification.

What You’ll Need

• M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school and Board Certified in a related specialty.
• Current Florida license to practice medicine issued pursuant to Florida Statute 458 or 459.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ recent active practice with direct clinical medical care experience.
• Certification in Palliative Medicine strongly preferred.
• Hospital staff privileges at one or more hospitals commonly serving patients in the service area strongly preferred.
• Valid CPR Certification required if patient facing.
