Associate Media Director

Company: Loudr Agency

About Loudr

We believe the best ideas come from collaboration, curiosity, and care for our work, our clients, and each other. Our core values of Communication, Dedicated, Tenacious, Versatility, and We are Loudr guide how we show up every day: we lead with empathy, communicate with transparency, think boldly, and follow through with purpose.

Seat Description

We're seeking an Associate Director of Media who balances high‑level strategy with tactical mastery. This role is perfect for a “digital native” leader who loves mentoring media talent while maintaining a sharp, hands‑on understanding of platform execution. You will bridge the gap between the Director’s vision and the Media Managers’ daily execution, serve as the primary escalation point for campaign issues, and lead complex negotiations. You will champion AI adoption to drive efficiency and act as a key architect for our priority accounts and new business growth.

Functions
  • Team Leadership & Quality Control
    • Directly manage and mentor Media Managers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and equitable delegation.
    • Act as the primary escalation point for campaign issues, ensuring quality control and strict process adherence across all client work.
    • Coach and upskill the team on effective delegation, technical proficiency, and strategic thinking to support their career growth.
  • Strategic Planning (Priority Accounts & Tier 2/3)
    • Develop holistic, audience‑centric paid media strategies for Priority Accounts (Top 6‑25) and Tier 2/3 New Business opportunities.
    • Advise clients on optimal media mix, budget allocation, and measurement frameworks to ensure campaigns are audience‑centric and results‑driven.
    • Collaborate with business development to create and present strategic media plans for new business pitches within assigned tiers.
  • Omnichannel Media Oversight (Traditional & Digital)
    • Lead the execution, buying, and complex negotiation for Traditional media placements, including TV, Radio, and Out‑of‑Home (OOH).
    • Oversee planning, activation, and optimization for digital channels (Programmatic, Paid Search, Paid Social), ensuring best‑in‑class performance.
    • Maintain "hands‑on‑keyboard" proficiency to troubleshoot advanced technical issues and guide the team through complex digital activations.
  • Integrated Client Solutions & Vendor Relations
    • Manage communication and aligned workstreams with cross‑department teams (Account, Creative, Web, SEO, Print) to deliver truly integrated proposals and campaigns.
    • Support account teams by leading high‑level client calls, developing presentations, and managing professional, timely client communications.
    • Build and nurture relationships with media partners, including developing RFPs, evaluating proposals, and negotiating competitive packages.
    • Stay up to date on new beta opportunities and best practices across channels and with key partners to bring innovative recommendations and thought leadership to internal teams and clients.
  • Operational Efficiency & AI Innovation
    • Champion the adoption of AI solutions and "test and learn" opportunities for automation to improve media efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Continuously evaluate department workflows to identify bottlenecks and implement data‑driven strategies that streamline operations.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in media planning and buying.
  • At least 2 years of direct supervisory experience with a proven ability to lead and develop talent.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of both Traditional (TV, Radio, OOH) and Digital (Programmatic, Search, Social) media landscapes.
  • Digital native with preferred "hands‑on‑keyboard" and in‑platform experience.
  • Proven experience in complex negotiation and vendor relationship management.
  • Strong ability to work cross‑functionally with Creative, Account, and Web teams to build integrated campaigns.
  • Forward‑thinking mindset with a passion for AI, data strategy, and automation.
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to explain complex media strategies to clients with clarity and confidence.
What Success Looks Like
  • Media Managers are supported, upskilled, and capable of handling complex challenges with your guidance.
  • Priority Accounts (Top 6‑25) see consistent growth and performance improvements under your strategic oversight.
  • The agency successfully adopts new AI tools and automation workflows that increase department efficiency.
  • Traditional and Digital media strategies are seamlessly integrated, delivering maximum ROI for clients.
