Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join the Mossville, IL team. The role focuses on validating components for driveline, friction, clutch, and brake systems, involving lab tests, data collection, and documentation for internal customers and suppliers.

You will develop tests, analyze results, and contribute to new technology introductions and process improvements in a manufacturing context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with lab testing, data collection and analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Pre-test preparation, inspection, and instrumentation of components to collect data.
• Lab test development and execution to evaluate new products, processes or systems.
• Analyze test data and maintain databases; communicate results and recommendations.
• Contribute to design, development, and validation of drivetrain transmissions, brakes and controls.
• Support NTI, NPI, CPI teams and develop SOPs for lab test development.
