Job summary

MacLean Power Systems in Stockton, California seeks an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join a growing engineering team. This hands-on role focuses on mechanical design, prototyping, testing, and collaboration with manufacturing.

You will translate concepts into CAD models, validate designs, and support product development from concept to production release. The position offers opportunities to grow in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience preferred but not required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on engineering mindset and interest in fabrication and testing.
• Experience communicating with engineers, welders, machinists, and shop personnel.
• Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings, assemblies, and bills of materials.
• Develop drawing details, dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing requirements.
• Design, build, and evaluate mechanical prototypes.
• Perform product testing and document test procedures and results.
• Collaborate with fabrication, machining, welding, and assembly teams to ensure manufacturability.
• Support prototype builds and resolve fit, function, and manufacturing issues.
• Process ECOs/ECRs and maintain engineering documentation.
• Assist with troubleshooting manufacturing, assembly, and product-performance issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for existing products and processes.
• Participate in design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
